New and Little-Known Eurasian Dithrycini (Diptera, Tephritidae). Korneyev V. A. — Oedaspis schachti sp. n. from Taiwan is described; it fits near Oe. pibari (Kwon), Oe. wolongata (Wang) and Oe. fini Freidberg, differing in details of wing pattern. Oe. fissa Loew, 1862 is the senior synonym of Oe. latifasciata Hering, 1937, syn. n. Oe. ragdai Hering is recorded for the first time from Tajikistan and Iran, Oe. dichotoma from Kyrghyzia and Turkmenistan, and Oe. fissa from North Africa. Ptiloedaspis tavaresiana Bezzi and Dithryca guttulosa (Loew) previously known from descriptions, are figured. Keys to Palaearctic and Asian species of Oedaspis Loew and Dithryca Rondani are compiled.

Odontometric Variation and Species Identification of Wood Mice Sylvaemus (Muridae, Rodentia) from Ukraine Fauna. Lashkova, E. I., Dzeverin I. I. — Techniques for identifying 4 species of Sylvaemus genus from Ukraine fauna have been developed as a result of multiple investigation of molar variation. Species belonging of nearly 80% specimens from pooled sample can be reliably defined using a total set of dental measurements under study. The accuracy of identification is somewhat reduced with lessening a number of characters used for identification. S. uralensis and S. arianus are the most similar with their odontometric characters. S. sylvaticus differs from these two species a little bit more, than they differ from each other, and S. flavicollis is the most original species. The algorithms of species definition using various combinations of characters are offered. They can be used for analysis of fossil material and material found in predator pellets.

Distribution, Ecology and Conservation Status of the Danube Crested Newt Triturus dobrogicus (Amphibia, Salamandridae) in Ukraine and Moldova. Litvinchuk S. N., Borkin L. J. — In Ukraine, the Danube crested newt Triturus dobrogicus (Kiritzescu, 1903) occurs in Kherson, Odessa and Transcarpathian Provinces only. For the first time, the species is recorded from the lower part of Dnieper River (Kherson Province). In Moldova, this newt species was found in Cahul (=Kagul). Some data on ecology of the species are given. The conservation status of the spe-cies is discussed. We recommend T. dobrogicus to be included in the Red Data Book of Ukraine and Moldova.

Comparative Characteristics of Genus Martes Diet in Forest Ecosystems of Ukraine Steppe Zone. Mikheyev A. V. — Data on diet of stone and pine marten under condi-tions of mutual inhabitance were presented. Comparison of quality and quantity pa-rameters of diet range were conducted. Trophic niche breadth of each species by different food objects groups were determined. On the base of trophic niches over-lap calculation the possibility of two species coexistence without competitive ex-pulsion were shown.

Physiological Peculiarities of Reproduction of Saiga (Saiga tatarica) Kept Semi-free in South of Ukraine. Steklenev E. P. — Indices of reproduction ability in Askanian population of saiga antilope does'nt alter significantly from those of its natural habitat. Some deviations of terms of sexual activity, maiting and birth of progeny are mainly determined by climatic conditions of a certain year and grass supply, grazing of which activates sexual processes in females and de-termines biological value of gametes, fruitful matings, normal develepment of em-bryos and the normal breeding in the herd. Semi-free breeding of saiga antilope on the wide pastures of the South Ukrainian steppe and selective grazing of grass promotes the normal function of all organs and biological systems of the animals, high rate of metabolism that eventually determines successful reacclimatization of the species.
Key words: saiga, reacclimatization, Askanian population, reproduction ability, sexual activity, gametogenesis, mating, births of progeny.

Rare and Locally Distrributed Helminth Species of Palaearctics: Kurilonema markovi (Nematoda, Rhabdiasidae), the Lung Parasite of the Japanese Five-lined Skink, Eumeces latiscutatus (Reptilia, Sauria, Scincidae). Kuzmin Y. I., Sharpilo V. P. — The nematode Kurilonema markovi Szczerbak et Sharpilo, 1969 is redescribed based on new material. The validity of the genus Kurilonema Szczerbak et Sharpilo, 1969 is confirmed and its improved diagnosis is provided. Kurilonema Szczerbak et Shar-pilo, 1969 is compared with and differentiated from the closely related genus Neoentomelas Hasegawa, 1989 by the presence of 6 circumoral lips, and from Entome-las Travassos, 1930, first of all, by the absence of teeth on the bottom of buccal capsule. The affinities between Kurilonema and other genera of Rhabdiasidae are discussed.
Key words: Nematoda, Sauria, Scincidae, Rhabdiasidae, Kurilonema, K. markovi, Eumeces latiscutatus, Kunashir.

On the Validity of Genera Opossumia, Markewitschitaenia and Subfamily Inversiinae (Cestoda, Cyclophyllidea). Spassky A. A., Buga M. L. — As a result of analysis conducted by the authors, cestodes with the uterus disintegrated on the early stages of proglottid development were separated from the family Anoplocephalidae. The validity of the superfamilies Anoplocephaloidea and Linstowioidea, the subfam-ily Inversiinae, the genera Inversia, Markewitschitaenia and Opossumia, was thus restored. The families Linstowiidae and Skrjabinochoridae were transferred from the suborder Anoplocephalata to the suborder Davaineata. The family Linstowiidae was subdivided into 3 subfamilies: Linstowiinae, Markewitschitaeniinae and Inver-siinae. The tribe Opossumiini trib. n. was separated inside the latter group. The genus Markewitschitaenia istransferred from the family Linstowiidae to the family Skijabinochoridae. Reptiles known to be the hosts of M. sharpiloi are recognized as obligatory hosts for Ě. rodentinum, the type species of the genus. The relation between the degree of physiological host specificity of cestodes and environmental conditions (temperature) was indicated.
Key words: cestodes, Anoplocephalidae, Linstowiidae, Inversiinae, Opossumiini, Markewitschitaenia, Opossumia.

Helminthes of Goby Fish of the Hryhoryivsky Estuary (Black Sea, Ukraine). Kvach Yu. — In the paper the data about the helminthofauna of Neogobius melanostomus, N. ratan, N. fluviatilis, Mesogobius batrachocephalus, Zosterisessor ophiocephalus, and Proterorhynus marmoratus in the Hryhoryivsky Estuary are presented. The fauna of gobies’ helmint hes consist of 10 species: 5 trematods (Cryptocotyle concavum met., C. lingua met., Pygidiopsis genata met., Acanthostomum imbutiforme met.), Asymphylodora pontica, one cestoda (Proteocephalus gobiorum), 2 nematods (Strepto-cara crassicauda l., Dichelyne minutus), and 2 acanthocephalans (Acanthocephal-oides propinquus, Telosentis exiguus). Only one of trematods species was presented by adult stage. The modern fauna of helminthes and published data are compared. The relative stability of the goby fish helminthofauna of the Estuary is men-tioned.

Fauna of Phytonematodes of a Winter Wheat in Different Soil and Climatic Zones of Ukraine. Nikishitcheva K. S. — The species composition of nematodes found in the rhyzosphere of the winter wheat in agrocoenoses of different soil and climatic zones of Ukraine, the structure of phytonematode complexes, and the commonality of the species composition (with the use of the Jacquard’s coefficient) are analysed. Considerable commonality of these complexes allows to talk about existence of one common phytonematode complex of the winter wheat, inherent to all soil and cli-matic zones of Ukraine.
